Sommerberg funicular (Sommerbergbahn)
Sommerberg funicular
The Sommerberg funicular (Bergbahn) scheduled service started again in October 2011 after almost a year of modernisation. Brand new bright red carriages with panorama glass now whisk you up to Sommerberg in a few minutes.
The Sommerberg funicular nears the top station
The funicular (bergbahn) which departs every half-hour climbs the 300m from Bad Wildbad - Sommerberg in less than 10 minutes. The climb reaches a maximum gradient of 52% near the top and from there the view is quite breathtaking. The two carriages pass each other in the middle where the railway splits into two. Built in 1908 the funicular celebrated its centinary in 2008 and was one of the first major constructions on Sommerberg.
Special event taxi
Outside the Sommerberg funicular station a special event taxi awaits passengers arriving from Bad Wildbad
